WISCONSIN BICYCLE FARM TOURS

What better way to combine exercise with great food than touring some of Wisconsin's local farms and making stops for some great eats. There are two rides in September one in Madison and the other leaving from Random Lake and traveling through West Bend and Cedarburg.

An added bonus of doing one of these rides is that you are helping to build relationships between bikers and farmers. Many farmers have become frustrated with the recent increase of bicyclists riding the roads and this is a great opportunity to support the farmers and work together with them.

On September 12, 2009 the Madison Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition is having its third annual Bike the Barns Tour. The ride is 52 miles, travels through the farmland Southwest of Madison, and highlights three local farms. The ride leaves from Elver Park in Madison at 7:30. Cost is $55. On September 20, 2009 there is another farm bicycle tour of Sheboygan and Ozaukee Counties. The ride starts in Random lake and stops at farms in West Bend and Cedarburg. It includes a stop with a Farm tour of the Wellspring farm.
