This is a 21 .5 mile State trail connecting the Elroy -Sparta State trail to the Great River State trail. It was developed from abandoned railroad and covers various communities including Sparta, Bangor, West Salem, and Onalaska. Sparta is known as "The Bicycling Capital of America."
This trail and area are in a beautiful area of Wisconsin consisting of bluffs and coulees and aptly named god's country.
The La Cross River trail takes bicyclists on a meandering trip all the way to the Mississippi river.
In addition to wonderful biking, this area offers superb camping, fishing, swimming, and hiking activities.
