Madison Bike Thieves Busted

Two men were recently busted possessing over 1000 bikes that the police allege were stolen from around Dane County.  Apparently one of the men owned  bike shop in Muscoda, WI and sold the stolen bikes.  

600 of the bikes have identifiable serial numbers and the police are looking to get the bikes back to their real owners.

Police say over the last ten years in Dane county, over 16,000 bikes have been stolen.

People who had their bikes ripped are encouraged to go to uwpd.wisc.edu/biketheft and re-report it or call UW Police at 608-264-2677.
