Comparing Madison to Miami Beach, it's clear that having bicycle trails and lanes makes it safer for bicyclists and also makes it much nicer for car drivers as well.

Madison is very lucky to have access to B-Cycles. Here are a few pics of a similar set up in Miami Beach, Florida of "Decobikes". Although the bikes are quite similar to ours, the roadways are terrible for cycling. Absolutely no bike lanes and most people are forced to ride on the sidewalks. There is a very nice boardwalk along the coast that a lot of people run on and some people ride cruisers on.
