Wisconsin gets 2 of 7 Nationwide Grants for Bicycle Improvements

Bikes Belong based in Boulder Colorado- an organization that works to "put more people on bicycles more often," has awarded $55,000 in grants for seven projects. Two of the seven are in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin's Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association won $5,000 to finish its trial development in Cable and Hayward-creating 28 miles of continuous singletrack.

Middleton, Wisconsin will assist the Capital Off-Road Pathfinders in building a bike park adjacent to Middleton's public golf course. According to Bikes Belong, Middleton "has been working to improve its bike friendliness, and sees this facility as a key step in the process." The plan is to include the park as part of a master trail plan allowing mountain bikers to ride trails instead of drive their cars.
