According to bicycle accident reconstructionist James Green, the best colors of bicycle helmets are yellow, orange and green. Florescent colors are the best because they are most visible to drivers.
Green sites research that suggests the above colors increase a motorist's perception distance by as much as 600 feet.
Colors such as black, grey, and white tend to blend into the background and are not as visible to drivers.
