According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the City of Milwaukee should have bike racks mounted on its buses by spring. In adding the bicycle racks, Milwaukee will join about 12 other Wisconsin cities including Sheboygan and Madison.
As a past San Diego resident who commuted to work by bike and train, I truly appreciate the option to store bikes on buses and trains. Thank you to all who voted for this and also to the groups who advocated for it.
For those of you who won’t be putting your bikes away until spring when the racks are in place, check out the Surly Pugsley. With its super fat tires, it might be a good choice for winter riding. I am looking forward to putting my new wood fenders to use (see pic at left).
